I find that my desktop background is one of the easiest daily reminders to do something (or better yet.. be something). Interestingly enough, I also find that looking through the history my backgrounds tells a little bit of a narrative for my life and the struggles I overcame throughout the year.
The wonderful end of the year theme that I am excited to carry into the new year as my resolution. From as small as staying on the treadmill as long as I said I would to following through on a project until its completion. A simple theme: To finish what I start. (side note: I took this picture in Nepal! Aren’t the mountains beautiful?)
After being out of the game for a while, I found myself hesitant to jump in on a lot of things I needed to do to push my projects foward. I was clouded by doubt, “what if this doesn’t work”.. or worse.. “what if this blows up in my face”. Eventually I hit a breaking point. It was time to be brave. Doing something and failing was a better outcome than not doing anything at all.
After a number of things were shaken up in my personal life, I found myself DESPERATELY trying to get out of a slump. At times I would lose hope, but then remembered how different my life is today from a year ago (in so many good ways). That thought led to this phrase of reassurance that I read every day for confidence to keep pushing forward, knowing that the future would be bright even if it was hard to see.
